Complexities in the Assessment of Adults with ADHD: Best Practices for Diagnosis and Treatment

Dr. Saeid will be providing a professional development workshop at the Canadian Psychological Association National Conference in St. John's Newfoundland this coming June. In his workshop, psychologists from across the country will gain critical insights into complexities in the assessment of ADHD in adults, and learn the most up to date best practices for diagnosis and treatment.

Assessment of ADHD in Adults - Training for Ontario Psychologists

Recording of Workshop now available for Registrants - Contact Ontario Psychological Association for CE Credits and link to recording.

There has been an increasing interest in the diagnosis and treatment of adult ADHD. Join Dr. Saeid and Dr. Angie to review the best practices for approaching the assessment of ADHD in adults. We will review standardized processes such as screening, standard battery (including our rationale for selecting certain measures), diagnostic considerations, and complex cases. Our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive overview of adult ADHD assessments and help you prepare a roadmap to take the necessary learning and supervision steps to provide this service to your clients.

What is a Psychoeducational Assessment?

An assessment can change the trajectory of a student's path by providing recommendations for accommodations to assist the student at their school, college or university, as well as, suggestions for educational programming, identification, and placement.

Long Waitlists for Psychoeducational Assessments: join us in advocacy for greater access to school psychologists

According to People for Education’s 2022 Report on Ontario’s Publicly Funded Schools, there are at least 35,000 students waiting for special education assessments in Ontario. While most of these students are receiving some form of support, without an assessment, it is difficult to ensure that the support is targeted and appropriate. Even though schools have their own psychologists, the waitlist can reach over two years.

We support these organizations via pro bono services / monthly donations:
